Lisa Sanden

Lisa SandenLisa graduated from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, in 1983, cum laude, with a BS in Geology. She is a charter member of UM’s chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. Lisa took the Montessori Training with Joen Bettmann and has eighteen years experience in the primary class. She has attended six Refresher Courses and four Summer Institutes and has had extensive additional training in music from Sanford Jones and art from Carol Alver. She became certified as an AMI consultant at the primary level in 2005. She has been head of the Lower School at Countryside Montessori since 2005 and has experience supporting and mentoring teachers in all stages of their development.

Outside of Montessori, Lisa has additional leadership training from the Wright Leadership Institute and is a member of SOFIA, focusing on women’s leadership. She has studied grounded leadership and has been invited to present this emerging leadership style to the trainers and consultants at the next Consultant’s Retreat. Lisa has also studied systems and systems interventions as they apply to families and other groups. She is currently enrolled in a masters program focusing on human development in the four areas of Existential Philosophy, Humanistic Psychology, Adlerian Psychology and Developmental Psychology.
